Exemple : We use computers because they are fast.
  2. Because of est une préposition. Exemple : We use computers because of their speed.

  2. Clause structure : $\text{Subject} + \text{verb} + \text{so that} + \text{subject} + \text{can/will} + \text{verb}$. Exemple : They develop new tools so that people can communicate easily.

💡 À retenir : "In order to" est plus formel que "to".

  2. Avec un adverbe : He uses his phone so often that he forgets his friends.

💡 À retenir : "So" qualifie l'adjectif, "that" introduit la conséquence.

What is "Artificial Intelligence" (AI)?

AI refers to the ability of machines or computer systems to mimic human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, and problem-solving. It is used in many fields like medicine, transport (self-driving cars), and daily life (Siri, ChatGPT).

How can I link an advantage to a consequence?

  2. Advantage $\to$ Consequence: "The internet provides instant information, consequently making learning easier."

Is "automation" a good thing or a bad thing?

It depends on the perspective:

  • Positive : It increases productivity, reduces human errors, and performs dangerous tasks.
  • Negative : It can lead to job losses (unemployment) for workers in factories.

💡 À retenir : Dans un examen, ne dis jamais "it is good" ou "it is bad". Dis "It has both advantages and disadvantages".

What is the difference between "scientific progress" and "technological progress"?
  • Scientific progress is about gaining new knowledge and understanding the laws of nature (e.g., understanding DNA).
  • Technological progress is about applying that knowledge to create tools and machines (e.g., creating a vaccine or a smartphone).
