1. Vocabulaire thématique :

  • Tangible Heritage (Patrimoine matériel) : Ce qu'on peut toucher.
    • Examples: Monuments, buildings, ruins, historical sites, artifacts, crafts (artisanat).
    • Examples: Traditions, customs (coutumes), oral history, music, folklore, festivals, recipes.
  • Verbes d'action : To preserve (préserver), to protect (protéger), to maintain (entretenir), to pass down (transmettre), to destroy (détruire), to damage (endommager).

  • Past Simple Passive : $Subject + was/were + Past\ Participle$
    • Example: "The Hassan II Mosque was built in Casablanca."
  • Present Simple Passive : $Subject + am/is/are + Past\ Participle$
    • Example: "Traditional carpets are made by local women."

3. Fonctions de communication :

  • Expressing importance : "It is essential to...", "Heritage plays a vital role in...", "We must protect..."
  • Describing a place : "It is located in...", "It is famous for...", "It dates back to..."

Méthodes à maîtriser

2. Argumenter pour la protection du patrimoine :

  • Utiliser des connecteurs logiques : First, Second, Moreover, Therefore, Consequently.
  • Utiliser des modaux de nécessité : Must, Should, Have to.

Exemples corrigés

Exemple 1 (Grammaire) : Active: "The artisans make these rugs by hand." Passive: "These rugs are made by hand by the artisans."

Exemple 2 (Vocabulaire/Expression) : Question : Why is cultural heritage important? Réponse : "Cultural heritage is important because it represents our identity and attracts tourists, which helps the economy."

  • Oublier l'auxiliaire "be" dans le passif : Ne dites pas "The temple built in 1900", dites "The temple was built in 1900".

What is "intangible heritage"?

❓ Questions fréquentes

Chno hiya l-farq bin tangible w intangible heritage?

C'est une question très courante. Voici la différence simple :

💡 À retenir : Tangible = Touchable / Intangible = Not touchable.

What is the definition of cultural heritage?

Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group or society that are inherited from past generations, maintained in the present, and bestowed for the benefit of future generations.

💡 À retenir : It is our "identity" passed from ancestors to children.

Kifach nkteb paragraph 3la chi monument f l-Maghreb?

Pour réussir ton paragraphe, suis ce plan :

  1. Introduction : Nomme le monument et sa ville (ex: "The Volubilis is an ancient Roman site located in Meknes").
  2. Description : Utilise le passif pour dire quand/comment il a été construit (ex: "It was built by the Romans").
  3. Importance : Dis pourquoi il est important (ex: "It is a symbol of our history").
  4. Conclusion : Donne un conseil de protection (ex: "We must protect it for future generations").

How can we protect our cultural heritage?

We can protect it through several ways:

  1. Government action : Building museums and repairing old buildings.
  2. Education : Teaching students about their history in schools.
  3. Tourism control : Managing tourists to avoid damaging historical sites.
  4. Laws : Creating strict laws against destroying monuments.

💡 À retenir : Protection = Government + Education + Laws.

Is "tradition" part of heritage?

Yes, absolutely. Traditions are a major part of intangible heritage. They include customs, festivals, and ways of life that are passed down through generations.

💡 À retenir : Traditions $\in$ Intangible Heritage.

Wash darori nsta3mlo l-passive voice f had l-chapitre?

Oui, c'est presque obligatoire ! Pourquoi ?

(Active)
  • On préfère : "Volubilis was built by the Romans." (Passive)

💡 À retenir : Utilise $Subject + be + Past\ Participle$ pour décrire l'histoire.

What is the difference between "customs" and "traditions"?

They are very similar, but:

  1. Customs : Specific actions or behaviors practiced by a group (ex: a way of greeting someone).
  2. Traditions : Broader beliefs or customs passed down over a long period (ex: celebrating Eid).

💡 À retenir : Customs are often the "small actions" within a larger tradition.

Why is heritage important for tourism?

Heritage is a huge "magnet" for tourists. People travel to Morocco to see the historical sites (tangible) and experience the local culture/food (intangible). This brings money to the country and creates jobs.

💡 À retenir : Heritage $\rightarrow$ Tourism $\rightarrow$ Economy.

Can heritage be lost?

Yes, heritage can be lost due to:

  1. Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods).
  2. War and conflict.
  3. Modernization (destroying old houses to build malls).
  4. Neglect (not repairing old sites).

💡 À retenir : Heritage is fragile.
