  • Symptoms: fever, pain, dizziness, tiredness, swelling.
  • Healthy habits: a balanced diet, regular exercise, enough sleep, drinking water, hygiene, avoiding junk food.
  • Unhealthy habits: smoking, sedentary lifestyle (lack of movement), eating too much sugar, sleeping late.
  • Prevention & Treatment: to prevent, to cure, to treat, medicine, vitamins, vaccination.

2. Grammar: Modals of Advice and Obligation

  • Advice (Conseil): Pour donner un conseil, on utilise :
    • $Should / Shouldn't + Verb\ (base\ form)$
    • $Ought\ to + Verb\ (base\ form)$
    • Example: You should eat more vegetables.
  • Obligation & Necessity (Obligation):
    • $Must + Verb\ (base\ form)$ (Obligation forte/personnelle)
    • $Have\ to + Verb\ (base\ form)$ (Obligation externe/règle)
    • Example: You must see a doctor immediately.
  • Prohibition (Interdiction):
    • $Mustn't + Verb\ (base\ form)$
    • Example: You mustn't smoke in hospitals.

3. Expressing Cause and Effect (Cause et Conséquence)

  • Cause: $Result + because + Subject + Verb$ OR $Result + because\ of / due\ to + Noun$
  • Effect/Result: $Cause + so / as\ a\ result + Result$

Méthodes à maîtriser

  • Donner des conseils : Utiliser la structure $Subject + should + verb$ pour proposer une solution à un problème de santé.
  • Décrire un problème : Utiliser le présent simple pour les habitudes ($I eat...$) et le présent continu pour les symptômes actuels ($I am feeling...$).
  • Lier cause et conséquence : Bien distinguer l'utilisation de "because" (suivi d'une phrase) et "because of" (suivi d'un nom).

Exemples corrigés

  • Transformation (Advice):
    • Question: "I have a terrible headache." (Use: should)
    • Answer: You should take an aspirin and rest.
  • Linking (Cause/Effect):
    • Question: "He eats too much fast food. He is gaining weight." (Use: because of)
    • Answer: He is gaining weight because of eating too much fast food (ou: because of his bad diet).
  • Modal usage:
    • Question: "It is necessary to wash your hands." (Use: must)
    • Answer: You must wash your hands.

Erreurs fréquentes

  • L'oubli de la base verbale : Ne pas dire "You should to eat" mais "You should eat".
  • Confusion Must/Should : Utiliser "must" pour un simple conseil (trop fort) au lieu de "should".
  • Confusion Because/Because of : Dire "Because of he is sick" (Faux) au lieu de "Because he is sick" ou "Because of his sickness" (Vrai).

❓ Questions fréquentes

Chno lfarq bin "should" w "must"?

C'est une question de force :

  1. Should est utilisé pour donner un conseil ou une suggestion (ce qui est une bonne idée). Ex: You should sleep early. (Tu devrais dormir tôt).
  2. Must est utilisé pour une obligation forte ou une nécessité absolue. Ex: You must wear a mask. (Tu dois porter un masque).

💡 À retenir : Should = Conseil / Must = Obligation.

Kifach nsta3mel "due to" f l'anglais?

"Due to" signifie "à cause de". La règle est simple :

  1. Il est toujours suivi d'un nom (noun) ou d'un groupe nominal, jamais d'une phrase complète avec un verbe conjugué.
  2. Structure : $Result + due\ to + Noun$. Exemple: The illness was due to stress. (La maladie était due au stress).

💡 À retenir : Due to + Nom uniquement.

Wash "ought to" b7al "should"?

Oui, exactement !

  3. Structure : $Subject + ought\ to + Verb\ (base\ form)$. Ex: You ought to exercise more.

💡 À retenir : Ought to = Should.

Pour décrire un symptôme, utilise généralement le verbe "have" ou "feel" au présent :

  2. Feel + [adjectif] : "I feel dizzy" (Je me sens étourdi).
  3. Suffer from + [maladie] : "He suffers from asthma" (Il souffre d'asthme).

  2. Exemple: I eat fruit in order to stay healthy. (Je mange des fruits afin de rester en bonne santé).

💡 À retenir : In order to + Verbe (pour exprimer le but).

Can I use "mustn't" to give advice?

Non, attention !

  1. Mustn't exprime une interdiction (quelque chose de défendu ou de dangereux). Ex: You mustn't smoke here. (Tu ne dois pas fumer ici).
  2. Pour un conseil négatif (ce qu'il ne faut pas faire), utilise shouldn't. Ex: You shouldn't eat too much sugar. (Tu ne devrais pas manger trop de sucre).

💡 À retenir : Mustn't = Interdiction / Shouldn't = Conseil négatif.

How to link "smoking" and "lung cancer"?

Tu peux utiliser la cause ou la conséquence :

  1. Cause (Because of) : He has lung cancer because of smoking.
  2. Conséquence (So) : He smokes too much, so he has lung cancer.
