  1. Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs) : Créées par des États (gouvernements).
    • Exemples : UN (United Nations), WHO (World Health Organization), UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
  2. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) : Organisations privées, non liées aux gouvernements, souvent à but humanitaire.
    • Exemples : Red Cross, Amnesty International, Greenpeace.

Vocabulaire clé :

  • To maintain peace: Maintenir la paix.
  • To solve conflicts: Résoudre les conflits.
  • Humanitarian aid: Aide humanitaire.
  • Global issues: Problèmes mondiaux.
  • To promote: Promouvoir.
  • Treaty / Agreement: Traité / Accord.

Méthodes à maîtriser

    • Structure : $Subject + be (conjugated) + Past Participle$
    • Exemple : "The treaty was signed by the leaders."
  • Les modaux de conseil/obligation : $Should / Must / Ought \ to$
    • Exemple : "The UN should intervene to stop the war."

Exemples corrigés

Question : Write a short paragraph describing the role of the WHO. Réponse : The World Health Organization (WHO) is an international agency of the UN. Its main role is to manage international public health. It works to combat diseases, promote vaccination programs, and provide medical aid during crises. Through its actions, the WHO helps to ensure that everyone has access to better healthcare.

Gratuit.
